- 01 Measure the boiler
Measure its width, height and depth, including the pipes underneath and the flue.
- 02 Check the clearances
The boiler maker’s installation instructions say how much space it needs around it for servicing and air. Check them, or ask your heating engineer.
- 03 Choose the height
Match the height of your other wall units: 720mm or 900mm.
- 04 Choose the width and hand
Pick a width that leaves the clearances you need, and LH or RH for the way the door opens.
Planning a boiler cupboard
Bigger boiler?
Every unit is made to order, so we can make a boiler housing wider, taller or deeper to fit around a larger boiler.
Matching doors
The housing takes a door and handle from your kitchen range, so the boiler disappears behind a run of matching wall units.
Pipes and flue
With no back panel, the housing fits over pipes on the wall. Tell us where the flue and pipes run so we can plan around them.
Access
Leave the space the boiler maker asks for so your engineer can reach the boiler for servicing.

What is a boiler housing unit?A wall unit made without a back panel, so it can fit over a wall-hung boiler and its pipes. It takes a door from your kitchen range, so it matches the wall units beside it.
What sizes do boiler housings come in?720mm high in 450, 500 and 600mm widths, and 900mm high in 500 and 600mm widths. Every unit is made to order, so we can make other sizes too.
How much space does a boiler need inside a cupboard? It depends on the boiler. The maker’s installation instructions give the clearances it needs for servicing and air. Check them, or ask your heating engineer, before you choose a size.
Can you make a boiler cupboard to fit my boiler?Yes. Send us the boiler’s width, height and depth, the clearances from its instructions and where the pipes and flue run, and we’ll size the unit in your free design.
What do LH and RH mean?Left-hand and right-hand: the side the door hinges on. Choose the one that opens the way you need.
Will a boiler housing match my other wall units?Yes. Choose the same height as your wall units, 720mm or 900mm, and it takes the same doors and handles as the rest of your kitchen.
