Under-sink bins

Under the sink the waste pipes and trap take up the space, so the bin has to fit around them. Measure the space under your trap, then choose from low wide bins, door-mounted bins and pull-outs.

How to measure for an under-sink bin

01 Cabinet width
Measure the sink unit from side to side (the cabinet, not the door): usually 500, 600, 800 or 1000mm.
02 Height under the trap
Measure from the cabinet floor up to the lowest point of the waste pipes or trap.
03 Depth to the pipes
Measure from the inside of the door to the pipes at the back.
04 Choose a bin
Pick a bin for your cabinet width that is lower than the height under your trap.

Under-sink bin types

Low wide bins

The Gollinucci 9XL is only 209mm high and fits 600–1000mm cabinets, so it slides under the trap of most sinks.

Door-mounted bins

Fix to the inside of the cupboard door. The lid lifts as the door opens, and they sit beside the pipes rather than under them.

Base-fixed pull-outs

Fixed to the cabinet floor on runners, so they suit any door. Lower models fit under a sink; taller ones suit a separate bin cupboard.

Recycling sets

Two, three or four bins in one pull-out, for general waste, recycling and food waste.

Ordering, delivery, sizes and fitting: all our answers →

Will a pull-out bin fit under my sink?

It depends on the space below your waste trap. Measure from the cabinet floor to the lowest pipe: low bins such as the Gollinucci 9XL are only 209mm high, so they fit under most sinks.

What size bin fits a 600mm sink unit?

For a 600mm cabinet there are low bins like the 9XL/600 (one 20 litre and one 9 litre bin) and taller pull-outs with two 40 litre bins if you have the height.

Do door-mounted bins work under a sink?

Yes. A door-mounted bin fixes to the inside of the door and sits to one side of the pipes, and its lid lifts as you open the door.

Can I fit a recycling bin under the sink?

Yes. Multi-bin pull-outs and the 9XL range have two, three or four containers, so you can separate general waste, recycling and food waste.

Will a bin fit my existing kitchen?

Most pull-out bins fit standard kitchen cabinets of the same width. Check the cabinet width, the height under the trap and the depth to the pipes before you order, or ask us to check for you.
